Founders
Santosh Umapathy (MBA-Finance)
Principal & President
Prior to founding Prudenz LLC and assuming the role of President and CEO, Santosh had built a clientele across multiple sectors both publicly and privately seeking to grow and surpass industry standards for his clients in financial services.
Santosh attended Wilmington University in Delaware. He was President of the Indian Student Administration and was elected an Ambassador for Wilmington University. Santosh obtained his BS in Business Management and a Minor in Legal Studies and Economics and went on to receive his MBA in Finance. After graduating, Santosh wanted to use his knowledge for business and finance and combine it with his passion he shared with his father, aviation. Santosh attended Embry Riddle Aeronautic University receiving his MBA in Aviation Management.
Santosh, a native of Dover Delaware, began his career by advising corporations as a business consultant for the two largest workflow management companies in the country. After, he transitioned from advising businesses to advising individuals for one of the nation's top independent advisory firms. He focused on serving high net-worth families. He trained under two of the financial industry’s million dollar round table advisors.
Through his vast array of leadership opportunities, management and business studies, Santosh created Prudenz LLC and began networking to build business partnerships globally. He started Prudenz with the exact same knowledge and foundation that he learned from his previous experience without the boundaries, limited biased advice, and services and products instituted solely by the firm. Santosh's goal was to allow for a truly unbiased and most efficient financial plan that can serve his clients. He now serves clients in, but not limited to, DE, PA, MD, VA, NJ, NY as well as globally. Prudenz has become more than a goal and stepping stone to more fluent financial planning, it is now a mission he is committed to sharing worldwide.
Joseph J O'Shea Jr. (ChFC & CLU)
Managing Partner
From his experience as a manager at one of the top financial firms in the country, Joe saw first hand the inefficiencies in the world of financial planning and sought out solutions to better serve his clients.
Joe is a graduate of Widener University where he played football. He was awarded the Wall Street Journal Award from Widener’s School of Business, which holds accreditation from the prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the premier accrediting body for business education. He holds a degree in Economics with a minor in Accounting. He has designations from the American College of Financial Services. He holds the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations.
Upon graduating from Widener, Joe began building his clientele centered around high net-worth individuals and companies, specifically in the construction industry. After his tenure at one of Philadelphia’s leading financial institutions, Joe saw the impact he made on the individual client and wanted to influence a team of advisors to do the same. He was recruited by the nation’s second oldest mutual company in America to manage an office in Wilmington, DE. Joe grew and managed a team of 20 advisors. This company was named Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania 7 years in a row in part because of Joe’s leadership.
His leadership is based on integrity and he has over 15 years of experience serving his clients both in the public and private sectors across all states and globally. He is looking to continue to break down barriers clients face by offering solutions and planning based on the individual client need through various networks and creative financial planning resources he has established worldwide.
